The City of Rogir
The City of Rogir has no true central nexus. Instead, the four wells that provide the city with water form the four market areas. Each well is constantly guarded by two to six members of the Blades depending on the time of day. Obtaining water is vital because of Rogir’s extremely hot and arid environment. However, as the wells draw from a large underground lake that is refilled only slowly by underground streams, the water supply is heavily regulated. In order to draw water from the well, a person must present a Well Seal, which is an impressed clay token about the size of a fist.

The Rogir Calendar
The Rogir year is 343 days long, with a leap year 350 days long once every five years. The year is broken up into 49 weeks each 7 days long, and 7 months each 7 weeks long. Dates in Rogir are given in a four-number format in the form year – month – week – day. For example, the sixth day of the third week of the fourth month of the year 465 is written as 465-4-3-6. The year is often omitted when it is understood. During the leap year, the fourth month is extended by one week.
The year begins at the summer solstice, which is also the only widely celebrated holiday in Rogir.
The months each have names based off the phases of the moon, and have traditional names based on those phases. The first month is Jabloni, month of the waxing crescent. The second month is Kus, month of the waxing quarter. The third month is Lomitko, month of the waxing gibbous. The fourth month is Kral, month of the full moon. The fifth month is Palec, month of the waning gibbous. The sixth month is Krava, month of the waning quarter. The seventh month is Nejake, month of the waning crescent. The new moon does not have a month, as the new moon is considered very unlucky.

The Well Seal
This token allows the bearer to withdraw 8 cups of water (each well is fitted with an 8-cup measure to draw water with) during each of two specified hours of the day at one specific well (these precautions are taken to avoid people drawing water more often then they should). A token is good for one day, one week, seven weeks, or one year (of 49 weeks). The longer duration tokens are slightly cheaper, but most people in Rogir purchase the weekly tokens, some becuase they will not be in Rogir for seven weeks, most because they cannot get enough money in a lump sum for the more expensive tokens, and almost all because theft of tokens is common. The base costs for Well Seals are 12 copper pieces for the daily token, 70 copper pieces for a weekly token, 45 silver pieces for the seven-week token, and 30 gold pieces for the yearly token. The tokens are for sale at specific times of day, week, seven-week, and year.
